- When sending business texts to US recipients, one-time A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration fees, carrier surcharges (per-message fees passed on by mobile carriers), and monthly campaign fees apply. These fees are not included in the calculations. However, because Sociocs passes them directly to CPaaS (carrier gateway) providers without markup, you’d pay the same or less than on other platforms.
- For simplicity, the calculation assumes a single-segment message (under 160 characters). While Sociocs charges per message rather than per segment, the CPaaS providers connected to Sociocs — as well as most providers in the list — charge on a per-segment basis.

- Per-User (Seat) Fees: Platforms like Textline and SimpleTexting often limit you to 3 to 5 users on their base plans. Once you need to add more team members, you can be hit with charges ranging from $20 to $70 per extra user, per month. Other platforms like Heymarket charge you per user from the very beginning. This penalizes growing teams that need to collaborate in a shared inbox.
- Paying for Customer Replies: Some platforms, like Heymarket and Textline, charge you credits for inbound messages. If a customer replies “Yes” to your appointment reminder, you pay for it. In high-volume two-way conversations, this effectively doubles your messaging costs.
- Extra Phone Number Fees: If you operate multiple locations or need separate numbers for Sales and Support, many providers will charge you $10 to $15 per month for every additional line.
- A2P 10DLC Registration and Campaign Fees: When sending to US recipients, one-time A2P 10DLC registration fees (typically ranging from $19 to $60) and monthly campaign fees (typically ranging from $1.50 to $10) apply. Some providers mark up these mandatory industry fees.
- Carrier Fees: When sending to US recipients, per-message (per-segment for SMS) carrier fees apply (typically ranging from $0.0025 to $0.01). Some providers also add a markup on these fees.
